journal usernames can be either ic or ooc in nature, we really don't care. if you feel an ooc one fits your character better than an ic one, then please use an ooc one! and vice versa. the only thing that we request is that there not be an excessive amount of extra numbers or letters and no underscores in the username.
all played-bys must adhere to the five year rule (five years above or under the pb's actual age). white-washing of pbs is strictly prohibited. if you have questions about your pb of choice, please

we know that aesthetics are a huge thing in the role-play world nowadays. we here at
inhumanities do not care if your journal or icons are "aesthetic." if you love to pretty up your journal, then go for it! we want you to be happy with your journal (you are the one that sees it for the most part, after all), but nobody will be rejected here due to aesthetics.
we do not require examples at
inhumanities. that being said, we want you to show us your best within your bio. we also know that everyone writes bios differently. while we want to see your best, you can show it to us however you want. do you prefer to write a fully fleshed out bio? excellent! do you prefer a timeline approach? that's beautiful! are you a bullet point bio writer? we love you for it! we just want to be able to get a good grasp for your character.
it's frustrating to be plotting with people after having picked a face for your character, only to have somebody else to swoop in and snag that face right out from under you.
we understand. with that being said, we request that you place a hold for the pb under the journalname you plan on using. if you switch that journal name, comment back to your original hold request with the new journal. we absolutely do not accept challenges. if you apply with a face that is on hold, and it is not the journal associated with that hold, your application will be deleted.
all introduction must be posted in
[asylum] within 72 hours of being accepted into
inhumanities. the majority of comments must be replied to within those 72 hours, as well. failure to intro your character or reply to the majority of the comments will result in your character's removal.
you are required to update two times a month. these posts can be anything you want them to be. the only excpetion is that one of your two updates must be interactive with comments enabled, and the majority of the comments must be replied to.
if you are new to the community, please use the below for what is required for your first month:
before the 20th: intro post & one update
after the 20th: intro post only
it is your responsibility to link your activity to the mods in the
activity tracker post by the end of the month. failure to link your activity will result in the removal of your character.
you are required to keep your friends list up to date. friends list checks will be done mid month. anyone who is out of date by two weeks or more will be removed.
please do your very best to not cross the ic/ooc line. we're all adults and we all know better. any knowledge that you, as a player, may have does not mean that your characcter automatically has that same knowledge. do not use information gained from narratives, bios, or private posts to influence your ic interaction with other characters. if you think somebody is guilty of this, please pm the mods with proof so that we can take the appropriate steps.
while we encourage all interactions to be on the friends page, we also know that some players do enjoy using third party chat programs like wire and discord. feel free to use these off-site programs, but please be aware that any activity that is not on the friends page will not count towards your monthly activity requirements. there will not be an official game discord.
at inhumanities we have a zero tolerance policy on bullying and harassment. if you feel that you are the target of this, please let the mods know immediately. if its found that you are harassing another comm mmember, you will be removed and banned from the community. this also applies if members or mods of another comm come to us about you harassing one of their members. we give no strikes.
the mods reserve the right the change the rules whenever they would like and without notice. if we make a rule change, we will let everyone know in the next mod update.
